3 Signs of Necessary Auto Repairs You Shouldn't Overlook
Not every small change or perceived problem with your car necessarily means that you should run to an auto mechanic, as cars can often simply develop noises or rattles over time without these actually being dangerous. However, it's not unusual for a car owner to overlook some signs of necessary auto repair, simply because they don't realise how serious the problem is or may reason that if the car can still drive, there's no need for a mechanic.

1. Obvious decrease in gas mileage
This could be caused by any number of things, from a gas leak to low oil levels, which in turn make your car's engine work harder than it should. You may have a problem with the car's exhaust so that the engine is not getting the oxygen it needs for the combustion that is created in the cylinders, and in turn it uses more fuel to create that combustion.
Your tyres might also not be inflated enough; the car needs to work harder to push flat rubber along the ground than it does when tyres are properly inflated. No matter the reason, it's good to see a mechanic so these problems don't get worse over time and so that your car doesn't suffer additional damage.
2. Noticeable emissions
When you have noticeable emissions coming from the exhaust, this usually means a clogged catalytic converter or a clogged sensor of some sort. These can interfere with your engine's function so that your gas mileage is decreased and the engine suffers more wear and tear. In some case your car may be leaking another fluid that is coming out the exhaust, and this can be very dangerous and cause damage to the engine.
3. Problems steering
Whether the steering is stiff or your steering wheel seems to make noise when you turn your car, you want to have this investigated by a mechanic. In many cases, your car is low on steering fluid and while you can easily top this off, you want to investigate why the levels got low. If you have a leak in your steering system, this should be addressed so that your car doesn't simply lose all fluid while you're on the road. The steering might seize up or simply fail to respond if that were the case, creating a dangerous situation for you and others.
